Oh, you guys! I am so excited to share these photos with you. Before I was a mother, one of my favorite things to do was take pictures. However, I hardly get out my fancy camera anymore for lack of time alone. My favorite subject was all things nature and I absolutely love macro photography. Lately, when I have the chance to breakout my fancy camera it for fun little photoshoots centered around my little cutie.
Hello Everyone! This is the first post I have written since March. Sorry for the lack of posts but March came with a whirlwind of changes. On March 10th, my husband accepted a new job in a new town. Meaning we will be moving here at the end of June. This will be the third move in the last two years. We have only lived in our current home for 8 months now. I am already dreading the packing, unpacking, and reorganizing a new home. The best part of this new house is it needs updating, so I will get to customize it a little bit. We are hoping this will be the last move for at least 5+ years. Of course, we can hope but life and God always seems to have other plans.
Summer is just around the corner which means swimsuit season. Does this give anyone else anxiety? I have always been a petite girl. I am 5’3’’, upon graduating high school I was 105lbs and had a flat stomach. I loved swimming and was excited for swimsuit shopping every summer. Every year, I bought a least one if not two new swimsuits. I spent most of my summers at the pool. Even after gaining my Freshman 10 (to many pies and Thursday nights) I still loved my body and even possibly loved it more in college. It wasn’t until I have my first child that I become every aware of my now scared stomach.
Ever since I started blogging, my daughter will get on her little computer and I ask: "What are you working on?" Her response, "I am working on my blog." I always get such a kick out of it. I often think to myself, if only you really were writing a blog post, then I could just post that. Well today, just for fun, I am. Here is my toddlers blog post. Yes, that is right, I let my toddler use my computer. This is mostly because my husband is a computer wiz and I know he can fix whatever she messes up.
I was tagged to do the Rocking Motherhood Challenge by Elizabeth Voyles at Worth Writing For. The challenge began as a way to help moms remember all the things that make us great mothers instead of where we might be lacking. I know when I sat down to right this list, I found it harder to think of 10 things than one would think. I got to about 5 and struggled to complete the list. It is always so easy for us to focus on the negative instead of the positives. I am glad I was challenged to do this list because it is so important as parents to give yourself credit for all the things you are rocking at.
Here I sit tonight, feeling overwhelmed by all I have to do. It seems as if it is never ending. You see it really hit me today, all the stuff I have to accomplish daily and weekly. There is always laundry to be done, dishes in the sink, meals to prepare, blog work, sweeping, and toys to pick up daily. Seriously, it is like everytime I pick up a toy, three more appear in its place. I have begun to say “pick up your toys or the vacuum will get them.” (What a motivator) I have a blog post to write, a bible study to complete, home study paperwork/training to complete and somewhere in there I have to squeeze time with my husband in. Oh, and bathe! So you see, I am just a little overwhelmed trying to decide on what to split my time between. Should I read the book for our adoption, work on my bible study, housework, spend time with my husband, or work on a blog post.
Happy Presidents Day! I don't know about you but I have been dreading this day because of all the hatred in the world right now. (Plus, half the businesses in town will be closed). I have never been big into politics. In fact, I try hard to steer clear of it. I find it boring and at times confusing. Though, I mostly steer clear because of how it can tear families and friends apart. For this alone, makes me hate politics. I hate that it is dividing America. I rather not have a strong opinion on politics. Strong opinions lead to strong emotions and strong emotions lead to hateful actions. But today, I am going to talk about it and all the things that I have been holding in during these last few months since Trump's election.
We are one month into the New Year. Did you make New Year’s Resolutions? I usually do not make resolutions. I am the type of person to not do something just because everyone is doing it. I have never read Harry Potter, Fifty Shades of Grey, or Twilight (I know, gasp…unfollow). New Year’s Resolutions were no different. Why make resolutions when they most likely won’t make it past January 6th. This year I have decided to bite the bullet and make some resolutions. I have picked three resolutions for 2017 that will hopefully enhance and improve my life. Now to only stick to them!! It has only been one month but I am already struggling.
Valentine's Day is upon us and I just love making holidays special for my child. This year I decided to center it all around one of her Valentine's Day books we have at home. One of our favorite this year is called "The Day It Rained Hearts"-By Felicia Bond. Emma received this book last year on Valentine's Day. I dug it out about mid-January to start reading it and prepare for Valentine's Day. The book is about a little's girl catching hearts that rained down days before Valentine's Day. She used these hearts to my Valentine's for her friends. What a cute idea and one I can totally bring to life for my child. I think it brings so much joy to Emma (and me) to watch her book come to life.
I was working on my Bible study last night and I came to the verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray continually". Wow, what a great verse and it is my birthday numbers: 5-17. This is something I have been working on and I have really started pray a lot recently. It got me thinking, what other Bible verses are out there with my birthday digits. I went through the whole Bible last night and wrote down my favorite verses. There is definitely some really great verses here.
